About Us

Ice Skating Club of Bendigo has been formed for approximately 18years. This club is made up of Mums and Dads of figure skaters. (past and present) along with our network of friends and supporters. We welcome and respect volunteers.

The club's mission is to promote figure skating in all areas, support all participating skaters, fundraise to help sponsor national & international aspiring skaters, to provide competitions, fun days, camps and further enhancements for figure skaters.

We support our coaches, to provide top level coaching to all levels of skaters.

We are affiliated with the Victorian Governing body –Ice Skating Victoria (ISV) who are controlled by Ice Skating Australia (ISA).

The club provides insurance for all training sessions and competitions within and outside of Bendigo.

We provide training days and camps that you will be included in, where you may receive training in dance, strengthening & fitness coaching, martial arts, nutrition etc.

ISCB runs all Bendigo competitions and often the Victorian State Championships. We apply for many grants to help improve and promote the sport.

A Newsletter is produced by the club keeping everyone informed of future events , competition results etc.

ISCB organises the sale of stocking tights, second hand boots and some costumes.

There is a wealth of knowledge and experience within the club to share so please feel free to ask any club executive or member.

If you are interested in becoming a club member please talk to a committee member.

2010 has been a positive year with all the opening of the brand new ice sports facility at Docklands. This will be excellent for ice sports in not only Victoria, but also in Regional and Interstate ice circles. The Icehouse opening coincided with the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and was ready to meet the renewed interest in ice sports that the Winter Olympics always generates. With the Olympic Winter Institute taking residence at the Icehouse and a facility capable of hosting international competitions, Victoria will be resurrected as the ice sports capital of Australia. With development of talent still needing to take place in regional Victoria, we anticipate that Bendigo will be the first location for a new regional rink. With the closure of the our old, beloved Bendigo rink in February this year, our biggest challenge is to keep spirits up at ISCB and lobby for a new ice rink, while travelling to Docklands to train and practice. So lets keep positive and strive together for a new rink in Bendigo!!
